About TISS CMCS Digital Archive
Centre for Media and Cultural Studies (CMCS) is an independent centre at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, engaged in media teaching, production, research and dissemination.
Currently the centre is in process of digitizing its collection (print and nonprint).
The centre has CMCS Digital Archive that comprises of very rare collection specially footage of its home production. It is a repository of documentaries, short and experimental films, various photographs of TISS and events happened in TISS, transparencies of old projects.
The above mentioned collection makes the CMCS Digital Archive more vital and potent.

- Unique collection of footage of documentaries , many of them National & International award winning productions, dating back to 1986.
- A repository of documentaries, short and experimental films, photographs of TISS events.
- Total collection of documentaries / short films is of 2700 records which includes on child development, women and gender issues, people’s movements, disabilities, rain water harvesting, water management etc.
- Digitized transparencies of projects such as Marianad, Shahade, Hemalkasa, Dabbawallas etc.
- Old and new photographs of and about TISS events, personalities.
